American Idol Season 18 runner-up Arthur Gunn just released a new single called “Rainy Days,” and it sounds like there’s more where that came from. Gunn teased even more new music on Instagram.

Gunn returned to the Idol stage this past season for a second chance at the title, thanks to America’s votes. However, he was eliminated before making it to the Top 5. After his comeback appearance, Gunn hit the recording studio.

Arthur Gunn Releases New Single ‘Rainy Days’

Gunn’s new song “Rainy Days” has the same folksy sound we’ve come to expect from the singer, as he shows off his signature gritty voice. The track has a positive message, with Gunn singing, “We will make it through all these rainy days.”

The vocals get a little more complex as the song goes on, with Gunn layering his own voice in top of itself, making for a unique sound. Fans on Instagram shared the love for the tune on Instagram, with one writing that they had it on repeat, and another commenting, “Love your tone.”

Gunn, whose real name is Dibesh Pokharel, teased the new release earlier this month, writing, “I wrote this tune sometime ago, I recently recorded, arranged, performed and produced on my own.” He later added that the song was a “long time coming.”

Gunn Teases More New Music to Come

It sounds like “Rainy Days” is just the beginning of a new stage of music for Gunn. While teasing the song earlier this month, Gunn wrote, “Now, you can get excited about it, but I’ll tell you now, there are some more hot cakes baking in the kitchen.”

Gunn has also returned to live performing in recent months. In July, he played a gig in Wichita, Kansas, marking his first live show since being voted off Season 19 of American Idol earlier this year. Before he was eliminated, Gunn also recorded an original song called “Save Me Now” with producer Ross Copperman.

Gunn was scheduled to perform with Sheryl Crow on the American Idol Season 19 finale, but he dropped out at the last minute, to be replaced by fellow contestant Graham DeFranco. Gunn has been vague about his reasons for not performing.
