American Idol judge Katy Perry is leaving the show after the current season, which means this Sunday’s Season 22 finale will mark her final episode. Host Ryan Seacrest recently shared how the show plans to celebrate her before saying goodbye.

American Idol Will Celebrate Katy Perry in Her Final Episode

“She’s gonna perform, we’re gonna celebrate her all night,” Seacrest told Entertainment Tonight of Perry’s farewell episode. “Then afterwards, I eat fish and vegetables — so she’s taking us for steak… It’s a celebratory night, right?”

Seacrest said he was “so sad to see her go,” calling her “impossible to replace.” However, someone will have to take Perry’s chair next season. The host teased, “I know some things, but I value my job too much to screw it up.”

As for what Perry has planned for her final night on American Idol, she told ET in a recent interview that she’ll be drinking, saying, “I’m gonna stay present and take it all in and then have a little after-party and Luke [Bryan] and I will finally drink. After seven years, we’ll really drink.”

Bryan told the outlet that saying goodbye to Perry will be “emotional,” adding that it will be “a little tough knowing that she’s not going to be there.”
